In 2020 the Coca river went through a drastic change in morphology. It was an epic event to witness and changed the structure of the river forever. Check out this amazing adventure Ben Stookesberry and Nouria Newman took in order to explore the newly formed San Rafael Canyon after the collapse of the 131m tall San Rafael Falls. The river continues carving the valley and the erosion is moving closer to the COCA CODO SYNCLAIR dam, the largest hydroelectric project in Ecuador.
