EXAMPLE ITINERARY
Class III-IV JUngle rally trip
7 days/6 Nights
Day 0 : Travel to Ecuador: Most flights arrive late at night to Quito, so plan to stay at a hotel near the airport (most have free airport shuttles).
Day 1 : Welcome to Ecuador! Breakfast & transfer to Baeza (2 hour ride) or Tena (3 hour ride). Check in at lodge, lunch, kayak outfitting and a warm up lap to shake the jet lag followed by dinner.
Day 2 : Jatun Yacu River: Jungle classic big water run of Tena: CLASS III+. Full day on the water, river lunch, shuttle back to lodge, & dinner.
Day 3 : Upper Mishaulli River: Rain forest creeking, smooth boulders, great for working on your boofing and technique! After a couple laps, head back to the lodge and get ready to venture around town, maybe some Ecuadorian parrillas BBQ for dinner??
Day 4 : Lower Jondachi: Pristine water, cascading waterfalls that line the banks of the river, butterflies and birds flying above. The Jondachi is a favorite of many people. Beginning with a 20 minute mild hike downhill to the river, alongside local porters to help out with your boat, we will drop in to the Gran Canyon of Ecuador. Lunch on the water, dinner after at a favorite local spot.
Day 5 : Rio Piatua: One of the most beautiful rivers in the region. A full day trip, lunch on the river and beers at the take out. Out and about in Tena town for dinner.
Day 6 : Cosanga or Quijos River: Hop in the car for a beautiful drive back to the Quijos Valley from Tena to Baeza. Paddle the Cosanga or Quijos river, exploring some of the many beautiful sections each river has to offer. Lunch of course, and dinner back in Baeza town!
Day 7: Quijos River Chaco or BonBon Canyon Finale: Finish your trip on our favorite river, the Quijos, enjoying the fun rapids and beautiful scenery on one of the stunning canyon sections of the river. Some empanadas for lunch en la playa! And to finish it off a delicious Ecuadorian dinner with the whole team.
En Route to Airport, Papallacta Hot Springs! Depending on your flight time, we can zip over to Papallacta hot springs on the way out of town. When the sky is clear catch a view of Volcan Antisana one of the many striking Volcanoes in the area.
